In partnership with  NICA, Bernicia is challenging conventional thinking about the role of the home. Together, they created the Longevity Home, a living demonstration that asks a simple question: What role can our homes play in keeping us well? Co-designed with residents, it showcases how thoughtful design and technology can actively support independence, wellbeing and everyday enjoyment, while giving its residents the opportunity to interact with and help shape future and emerging innovations.

The project reframes housing as a platform for prevention, not just care. It shows that homes can be enabling without being intrusive, and supportive without feeling clinical, highlighting the critical role of good design, dignity, and lived experience in creating places that help us all live better, for longer.
