Cyd Innovation has been shortlisted for one of the housing sector's most respected national honours. The Housing Heroes Awards, following a nomination by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ). DESNZ recognised Cyd Innovation's contribution to advancing practical, scalable solutions to support delivery of the UK's Warm Homes Plan, the government's most ambitious domestic retrofit programme to date.

About the Warm Homes Plan: The programme will invest £15 billion to upgrade up to 5 million homes by 2030, the largest public investment in home improvements in British history with the aim of cutting energy bills, reducing fuel poverty, and improving energy efficiency at scale.

Cyd was highlighted in particular for its role in helping shape thinking around the delivery challenges facing large-scale retrofit programmes, including supply chain capability, consumer uptake, and equitable funding distribution — areas where the gap between policy ambition and on-the-ground delivery has historically been widest.

"Our focus has always been on bridging the gap between ambition and delivery, ensuring that retrofit programmes are not only achievable, but scalable, inclusive and commercially viable."

Steven Reynolds: Founder & Managing Director

The shortlisting reflects Cyd's growing influence as a delivery partner for policymakers and housing organisations navigating the systemic challenges of retrofit at scale, particularly around building delivery capacity and ensuring harder-to-treat and underserved communities are not left behind.

As a social enterprise and B Corp, Cyd continues to develop outcome-focused models in partnership with government, local authorities, and private sector stakeholders, models that unlock innovation while maintaining strong community and commercial outcomes.

The 2026 Housing Heroes Awards ceremony takes place on Monday 22 June at Manchester Central.
