Maryhill Housing Enhances Efficiency with the MULTIflow Range
Maryhill Housing Association were replacing outdated storage
heaters and open-vented hot water cylinders in 578 properties across high-rise,
deck access, and low-rise housing stock.
Main
Objective -
To provide tenants with a more energy efficient,
controllable and affordable heating system, whilst improving the original hot
water system which was providing poor performance, both in efficiency and water
pressure. The MULTIflow and the MULTIflow+ thermal store ranges were chosen for
this project to fit the customers hot water requirements whilst fitting the
available space within each apartment.
Solution -
We worked with both the Housing Association and Installers
to specify the perfect thermal store solution for the residents. Making sure
hot water requirements were met whilst utilising the available space for the
units. Once the specification was signed off, we attended a residents meeting
to explain the new units and answer any queries before any work had begun
within the properties.
By specifying the thermal range, it not only solved the
Association's energy efficiency and water pressure issues, but also prevented
any ongoing maintenance.
The MULTIflow suited most properties, however with
properties where there was restricted space our MULTIflow+ range was specified.
The MULTIflow+ range was a great solution with the cylinder having a bespoke
design option, not only with slimline models but also moving tapping positions
to suit each individual apartment requirements.

efficiency

hot water performance and increased water pressure for residents

Customer
Feedback -
Adam Devine commented "Following a successful pilot
programme of installing McDonald Water Storage MULTIflow thermal stores, we
have progressed installations to 578 properties across our high-rise,
deck-access, and low-rise properties."
"We have received nothing but great feedback from
residents with all reporting enough hot water to run a full bath and more
storage space in their cupboards. The team at McDonald Water Storage have also
been incredible and always willing to answer any questions we have."
