Led by new chief executive Alex Notay, the Housing Forum Theatre will explore how cross‑sector partnerships can deliver A Quality Home for All, translating collaborative working into practical solutions for quality, affordability and pace. Through focussed discussions with councils, housing associations, developers and contractors, the programme will give delegates clear, applicable insight into what effective partnership delivery requires across planning, design, construction, retrofit and asset management. Designed as a practical, problem‑solving forum, the theatre will share proven approaches to aligning objectives, improving viability, managing risk and embedding quality through the full development cycle. Attendees will gain frameworks they can adapt immediately to strengthen delivery, enhance performance and improve outcomes for residents. The Housing Forum will also introduce new insights from its Futures Network, offering a people‑centred perspective on how roles, relationships and career pathways underpin strong partnership working, helping delegates connect culture, capability and collaboration to the delivery of A Quality Home for All.

Those of us working in the housing sector understand the desperate need for new homes, and the difference that a quality home makes to lives. But how do we make the case to others, who might not share our understanding? This session will share findings from recent research into the mindsets that people hold on housing. These shape people's thinking and understanding how they have changed in the last four years can help us frame conversations to help build support for new homes.

Procurement is intended to ensure we get the best quality outcome for the best price. Why then is it seen as driving up costs? Why are the public sector being charged higher prices than the private sector? The Housing Forum's new working group on procurement costs has identified lengthy procurement and slow decision‑making as among the biggest and least‑acknowledged drivers of cost. Crucially, these costs accumulate without improving the quality, sustainability or safety of new homes we build. Our report - Procurement: The Price we Pay - is being launched at Housing Manchester. It takes a big picture look at procurement and suggests ways in which we can bring costs down without compromising quality.

This interactive session will start with an opening panel followed by interactive table discussions. The discussion will be built around The Housing Forum Futures Network research project Speaking the Same Language. Attendees will have the chance to test assumptions and leave with practical, commercially relevant actions to improve client relationships, win work, and reduce delivery friction. Attend to share experience, test assumptions and co‑create solutions with peers from housing associations, local authorities, developers, contractors, consultants and professional services.

This interactive session will start with an opening panel followed by interactive table discussions. The format will be the same, continuing the collaborative focus on mutual understanding and shared learning. Bring examples, challenges or visuals you use in practice and leave with tested messaging, clearer shared expectations and a short action plan to embed into partnerships, tenders and delivery processes.
