This privacy notice and Terms will help you understand how we use and protects your personal data.
We are Ocean Media Group Ltd registered in England and Wales at Suite 6.04 Exchange Tower Harbour Exchange Square, London, England, E14 9GE with company number 01680420.
Our class leading brands include Bridal Week, The Bridal Awards, Bridal Buyer, Homes, Housing, Inside Housing and Social Housing. This Privacy Notice covers all our brands and controlled websites.

Our Promises:
We’re committed to your data privacy and security. As such we give you these promises:
- We will only collect data about you that is relevant and necessary.
- Your data will only be held on systems that meet compliance standards.
- Your data will only be accessed by those who need it, and we will minimise the amount of data that is processed, wherever possible.
- We won’t share your data with any third party, except for the marketing of our own services to you, or if you attend one of our events, or if we are required to share it by law or need to fulfil our service commitments to you through a third party that meets our own privacy standards.
- We will always remember that it is your personal data, not ours. As such we will ensure complete transparency and openness with you wherever possible.
- We respect your rights as outlined in the next section and will respond to all requests promptly.
Your Rights:
You have the following rights over any data we hold about you:
- Request a copy of personal information we hold about you.
- Ask that we update the personal information we hold about you or correct such personal information that you think is incorrect or incomplete.
- Ask that we delete personal information that we hold about you or restrict the way in which we use such personal information.
- Object to our processing of your personal information; and/or
- Withdraw your consent to our processing of your personal information (to the extent such processing is based on consent and consent is the only permissible basis for processing).

How we Collect your Data
The type and source of your data will vary depending on your journey with us.
For personal data related to business activity we may collect data directly from you through our website, sales, magazine subscriptions or at events. We may also receive your data directly from you or your employer or from other publicly available sources including business directories. For example, if you contact us through our website, email us, call us, send us a CV, meet one of us at events or meetings or approach us on social media
As we run a successful magazine some personal data will be collect by our journalists. This includes creating surveys, investigating stories and interviews.
What Data we Collect
We try and minimise the data held and the exact data elements we hold will be dependent on your journey with us.
You may be signing up to our newsletters or benefiting from a subscription to our Inside Housing magazine, entering a competition, writing to our editor, entering details on our jobs board or other communications. Depending on this the data you provide will vary. In most cases we will limit the data we have about you to the following:
- Your personal contact details – name, title, email address, phone number, subscription number, event attendance;
- Business details – contact details, job role, employer details, market sector, event attendance, subscription details;
- Transmitted information – such as emails, texts, messaging, phone call information, CV’s and recordings, voice mails, email should you contact us or our agents by phone or email.
- Subscription and event payment information – purchase amount, date of purchase and payment method, sort code, bank account number and account holder name
- Survey Information – opinions, anonymised data including ethnicity, sexuality, seniority, income, age and other metrics that may be relevant in the public interest.
- At Events – Photographs and/or filming of crowds and groups take place at our event to be used by Ocean Media Group and/or Exhibitors for publicity purposes. When you purchase a ticket and/or enter the event you consent to possibly being photographed/filmed and for these images to be used in possible future material in accordance with the event. Please collect a sticker on entry if you do not wish to be photographed/filmed. If we take a photo or film you as an individual, we will always ask for your consent to publish.
Occasionally data we collect is classed as “special categories” of data. This will be treated to uphold your rights and we pseudonymise this data as quickly as possible.
Calls may also be recorded for information holding, quality and training purposes.
This website and any subscriptions, promotions or other activities that include us processing your details is for those 18 and over only. We do not wish to collect any personal information from children under 13.
If you are gifting a subscription or signing someone up to the newsletter you accept that you will have permission (consent) to use that person’s personal data and accept liability for disclosure.
Cookies
When you visit the website, you may see adverts and links to other websites. These and our own analytics may involve the use of cookies and other beacons. When using our websites, you are given the option to manage your preferences and see which cookies and trackers are in operation. You waive all rights if you do not manage these preferences and you acknowledge that OMG are not responsible for any subsequent links to other sites.
How we Process your Data:
Data is processed/stored mainly on encrypted cloud services such Microsoft 365, Azure, NetSuite and our marketing and fulfilment platforms. This includes ticket processors, magazine fulfilment services, payment processors and others related to your activity. In addition, we may use Large Language Models (LLM) to help us fulfil some of our services.
We operate in the UK, however, in some cases we may have data processed outside of the UK and EEA. We use the following safeguards with respect to data transferred outside the UK and European Union where an “adequacy decision” is not in place:
- The processing is within the same corporate group as our business or organisation and is obligated to uphold the same standards of Data Protection and Security as our UK entity.
- Further to Section 119A of the Data Protection Act 2018 and noting Case C-311/18 in the European Court of Justice, if your data is transferred or processed outside of the UK or EEA we ensure the safeguards of International Data Transfer Agreements (IDTAs) or Addendums are enforced. Where this is not possible, we ensure that European Standard Contractual Clauses are entered.
We regularly review suppliers for data security compliance to ensure your data is safe and track where your data is held.
All our processes are subject to various internal policies to ensure that your data privacy and security is upheld.
What we use your Data for:
We process your data for several reasons:
- To contact you following an enquiry, competition entry or newsletter/magazine subscription where we either have your consent or it is in our Legitimate Interests
- To fulfil a contractual obligation or service to you or on behalf of our clients
- To carry out marketing of our services to business contacts in our Legitimate Interests.
- To analyse our jobs boards for performance and statistical purposes
- To carry out research in the public interest.
- To send invitations to events and follow these up if you have signed up to them.
We ensure we have a “legal basis” to use your data for the purpose we have collected it for. Typically, you grant us consent when filling in our forms. Any legitimate interests pursued by us, or third parties we use, are as follows:
- It is necessary for us to process the data to fulfil a request by yourself even if made to a third party.
- We feel it would be beneficial to you and that you would expect to hear about certain services we offer.
- You would reasonably expect such processing to take place.
Who we share your data with:
We share information where others are involved in the delivery of your service. These include:
- Digital Marketing Service Providers and Agents
- Print Fulfilment and Subscription Delivery Partners
- Ticketing and event management companies – for example SeeTickets
- Payment fulfilment Companies
- Where we have a legal obligation to
- Where you have applied for a job the platforms we use to fulfil this will process your data and send details where appropriate to the company you’re applying to.
- If our brand or entities are transferred to another party
If you’re representing a business and attend our events, we may share your data with our event sponsors and exhibitors. This is limited to your name, job title and company.
Our website and other materials sent to you may contain links to other third-party websites. We may also offer buttons to social media that link to third party services. We’re not responsible for the availability, content or data privacy these sites provide through their tools or sites.
Data Retention
Dependant on the data you provide us and for what purpose it is provided we may need to retain your data based on your journey with us. Typically, we will retain your data for 3 years following our last engagement with you, for example if you unsubscribe or cancel a subscription.

Data Permissions:
Every marketing email sent from Us allows you to opt out of receiving emails from us, except for the purposes of fulfilling any contractual arrangements.
Our jobs board for Inside Housing provides a preference centre where you can control opting out of communications.
You can also contact us at the email address above and request to opt out, view, export or delete your data.
If you request for your data to be deleted, your name and email address will be added to an exceptions list and all other data removed to the extent possible.
